igotJUIC3, who is the girl in your avatar? Oh, and credit to the Mayweather fans who are actually having a serious discussion in this thread without the usual childishness.....
I have to admire you for your honesty. :yep You really need to be educated. If beating Hatton, an undefeated two divisional champ and beating DLH a 5 divisional champ won't qualify PBF to be an ATG . . . what makes you think that . . . fighting and beating Margarito, Williams and Cotto will propel PBF's name to the ATG list? Make no mistake about this . . . I want to see PBF against these three fighters . . . I'm just asking you to make a justification of your point of view. Now let's hear it :think
And you know that the Tszyu fight never came off because off him, how so? Remember, Tszyu was injured (i.e out of action) for 22 months before returning and HAVING to face his mandatory Mitchell... And guess what fight he had next? Ricky, his last one. So take off Tszyu as a guy who Floyd ducked... Or AT THE VERY LEAST, claim that Mosely did the very same by skipping the entire 140 pound division to face Oscar.
did you know that it was Ricky Hatton who made Kostya quit on his stool when they fought? okay. now, what happened to that same Hatton tonight? you need to be riding in the short bus with the tinted windows with all the other special ed kids.
Exactly, Mayweather should fight Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito to be considered an All-Time Great:smoke Get a ****ing life. Really, you do need to be educated. Go to Boxrec.com, look up these fighters records that you think are sooo great and tell me who the hell they beat to be so great. :tired
Thanks :good Well, the way I see it, considering he beat an over the hill De La Hoya, and marginally via split decision, that's no longer an impressive feat. De La Hoya wasn't exactly winning all his fights up until that point, he was fortunate enough to fight someone as one dimensional as Mayorga to make it seem as though he was still going strong. And I believe Cotto, Margario and Williams all to be harder fights than an over the hill Hoya and Hatton.
The point is, if he claims to be as good as he is, then fight everyone thats out there. If he fights and beats everyone out there, then sure, hes an ATG in my eyes.
True, I do enjoy the short bus. Anyway, at that point in time all Mayweather knew is that Judah got schooled by Tyzu, so if you're pound for pound king, you fight Tyzu and do everything in your power to make it happen. You dont fight the guy who got KTFO.
I have to agree that DLH is no longer at his best when he fought PBF . . . but you see nobody else carries the same stature and nobody else could have up or increase PBF's stardom to where he is now besides DLH. As to Hatton . . . he is an undefeated two divisional champ until this lost, to call him HYPED or over rated at this point is a lame way to remove credit to what PBF has accomplished. Cotto, Margarito or Williams maybe harder fights than Hatton but what stature does this fighters bring for PBF? Fighting dangerous and harder fights all the time doesn't help any fighter to become ATGs, it's the accomplishment buddy. PBF is already a 5 dividsional champ and even if he didn't fight Hatton and beat him today he is already assured of being a candidate to the HOF and a candidate to the ATG list. So I don't see Margarito, Williams or Cotto being a detterent for him to be considered an ATG.
this fight adds a lot to PBFs resume. he's just beaten another undefeated fighter and the man at lightwelterweight. he's also managed to conquer a style he has never come up against, and done it in impressive fashion.
