gives them opportunity's at the highest level in the division.
Some cracking domestic cards and fights.
Put on the biggest show British boxing has seen in a long time.

So let's have a thread and hope Edward continues to do the good work and get the popularity of boxing continues to rise due to the magnificent work .

I think he does a great job too, he puts fighters in tough fights when they are meant to be in an around World class, if they are found out at that level it is not his fault. He is there to give opportunities, and he does a gr8 job at doing so.

His contribution has been fantastic from a spectator's point of view. I am absolutely astounded by the stick he receives re "rushing" fighters. Before he came on the scene, FW and Fat Mick were subject to constant criticism for, in the case of the former, "milking" his fighters to line his pockets with a long-term income and in the case of the latter, failing to make meaningful fights.

Think back to 2009 when we were subjected to endless cards with FW fighter vs semi-journeyman, and Froch vs Taylor on an internet stream with dodgy sound. Or 2010 when we had the "Magnificent 7+8" where a card of decent competitive fights was PPV!

Eddie has come along and has been the polar opposite of what we had (admittedly not all fights are 50/50!), but nevertheless people find a reason to moan. I for one am grateful.

There's a lot of man fetish out there for Hearn alright.

Hearn only came into boxing three years ago and had no boxing background.

Based on that he has done extremely well to bull**** his way into the position he has.

Unfortunately it's all marketing and PR with little substance. Needless to say Daddy's still running things behind the scenes.

I don't see the great cards other people do. What I do see is a seriously good PR machine aimed at teenagers and guys in there 20's. This age bracket have a love for Eddie that is almost cult like. The older heads, though, have seen it all before with Bazza and don't get too excited.

Bottom line: promoters are ****s no matter what form they come in.

Barry Hearn and Matchroom were doing this 20 years ago.

Hasn't bullshitted, He has done his job brillantly

and he also gave british boxing its biggest night in decades with froch/groves 2.

Your a bitter man and its guys like you that should admire Eddie for taking a sport dying on its arse in this country and getting it back up there.

    Of course he's bullshitted..........he's a boxing promoter.

A dodgy refereeing decision and Groves forcing the issue through the IBF along with him banging the drum made the second fight a walk in the park to promote.

Eddie is running a cult for young boxing fans. Young lads are impressed with good tans, sharp suits and the smell of money. I'm not.

Hearn has done a job with his fighters but I'm disappointed with his latest comments about taking Ricky away from Scotland why take a guy away when he has a fanbase up here who's going to travel down south to watch Ricky? Not the same numbers he would get up here.

Because he can't sell out shows there anymore, so he'd be more valuable to take to hull to fight Campbell, London to fight Mitchell, manchester to fight crolla etc

I think Hearn likes Burns v Crolla. A big night in Liverpool.

To be fair to Hearn this fight has plenty of intrigue and on paper looks like an all action fight.

Eddie Hearn is doing to boxing what his dad did to darts.

    Bring in the casual fan.
The casual fan ideally in his 20's.
The 20's, the age bracket that spends the most £££.
£££ makes the Hearns happy boys.

Love watching the matchroom events and also impressed with the standard of boxers he has signed. Challengers/Champions want the big fights and a big payday as does money man Hearn, win - win situation for boxer and promoter.

Totally agree that all boxers who want to make it to the highest level should face an opponent of the highest standard, opportunities that only matchroom could probably provide at the moment in british boxing.
