Once Eddie Hearn starts developing fighters into world champions instead of just nicking them then you can compare him to the Likes of Hearn Snr and Frank ******.

The issue is not that Eddie's dad is rich, it's that Barry is one of the biggest sports promoters in the world.

Eddie could not have achieved what he has without Matchroom's experience and expertise. Matchroom's relationship with sky was instrumental in Eddie getting the exclusive deal. Eddie got the dates first and then built up his stable. His stable at the the time didn't merit an exclusive deal. At least 60% of the work had already been done for Eddie.

Also people don't realise that Barry is still running the business. Barry is responsible for making a lot of the important decisions.

Bit of a stupid thread really , What did people expect Barry to do , just say , AAw fack it , i've had enough , think i'll sack everyone and retire ,, Or maybee open the phone book go eeny meenie mynee mo , and pick out a stranger ring him and say , do you want to take over a good buisness .

OR GIVE IT TOO HIS FACKING SON , who just so happens has been groomed well enough that he's doing a good job , and will probably take the buisness further

At 35 how old would he have had to start to achieve that? You are setting impossible standards really aren't you. The first fighter he ever signed was Darren Barker, a very average fighter who he guided to the belt. What everyone is saying is he is doing a brilliant job so far. I'd go as far to say if he continues at the rate he has in the last 3 years he will have surpassed anything Hearn Snr or W****n did, well before he is 50. From there who knows.

Who developed Darren Barker - That's right Mick Hennessey. Barker was a British, Commonwealth and European champion when he signed for Matchroom.

And NO it's not impossible standards to develop your own fighters into World champions Frank ****** has made a career out of it and so can Eddie Hearn, but all I see Hearn doing is "buying success" which is easy compared to developing and heavily investing in a fighter like other promoters.
If Hearn continues to do this for the next 3 years he wont have surpassed nobody.

FW has developed a career out of bankrupting his businesses and screwing over others.

So he will have surpassed somebody?

Hearn has some good young boxers now to bring along, he didnt have much choice at the start other than to sign ready to go talent, how else would they shift tickets etc to sell the dates from Sky?

Lets see how Joshua etc come along

Sky sould spread there shows out to other promoters, then you'd see how loyal the fighters would be

I had a feeling you would miss the point and see only what you want.. Please try to read what I am saying. Barker was the first fighter Hearn signed. Ok, focus on that bit. If he is the first fighter he signed, and be only recently became world Champion, how are younger less accomplished fighters supposed to have won titles ? Also, I referred to what he has DONE in the last 3 years and what he could DO potentially in the next 15.

If you are going to be so opinionated, try to listen to others a little better.

My point exactly, I even said that. I'm saying he was guided to the title the only way possible. Fair enough, he showed heart getting up and what not, but Heard put him in the position. And anyway, the point was Barker was the first fighter Eddie Hearn ever signed. F me, some people on here are ignorant.

And I will add Hearn got Barker 1 million for his next fight which he lost badly and then retired.
