Instead of responding constructively you make a meaningless point yet again, ah well, true to form at least.
So am right then Hearn has his work cut out to develop young fighters into champions. OK Barker was Hearn's first signing, but you focus on this bit he was already British, Commonwealth and European Champion under Hennessey. Mick had done all the hard work in the development, heavily investment in getting Barker ranked, so of course Hearn was going to get him a title shot that's the easy part Mick would have got him one as well. As for the £1 million Barker got in his first title defence Hearn gave up vital home advantage and sent him abroad (to lose) which is unheard off. You want to give Hearn 15 years that's fine, but just remember Hearn was giving the Sky platform and all the dates which had been taking away from others when he didn't even have a stable. Hearn had no plans to develop young fighters from scratch, he only had plans to steal or take other peoples hard work and investment. Take your blinkers off.
How old is Eddie? Same age as Froch? You've got to it to the guy. He's got the business nous to put up big fight after big fight. It isn't single handed, sure, but he puts in the mega hours required to get the big matches made. In 5 years he's out hustled and out worked Frank ****** at his own game.
Plenty of young kids on this forum who possibly have no idea who Barry Hearn is and what he was doing with Boxing nearly 30 years ago. Hey ho... you all got to live and learn to get on.
Nobody is saying he came out of nowhere. He used his contacts, and dad's influence well. Then again, Frank W@rren is also well connected but when was the last time he put on a mega show? Tyson vs Francis in 2000? Like the saying goes, if you are standing still you are going backwards.
Not sure why/how people expect Eddie to have a built a superstar considering he's not long been in the profession.
Exactly, well said. Eddie's done nothing yet apart from steal or take fighters that other promoters built up.
Yeah that's right, but don't forget the Chris Eubank shows and the other Scottish shows than Barry Hearn put on as well.
