This hard-hitting super middleweight local attraction has begun to step up to national level competition, most recently battering Kevin Engel to his hands and knees with body shots on ShoBox. There are some defensive leaks that need plugging...particularly, he is far too susceptible to getting hit with right hands. Whether it's keeping a glove up in front of his chin when pulling out of tight quarters, or moving his head, or changing his direction, some adjustment needs to be made there or someone with a very good right hand will check his apparently good chin. He fights hard and mostly smart. Here's hoping his game continues to improve as his opposition does.
I saw that fight...He looked Awful against a guy who started his career as a kick-boxer and just recent got stopped against a fighter with a 4-11 record. That entire card of Super-Middleweight Prospects has a LONG way to go. Hell the only guy that really impressed was the undefeated fighter (Derek Edwards) "they" brought in to be an opponent for Marcus Johnson. For a fighter with only 6 amateur fights...His skills (TECHNICALLY) were solid.
