atsch Based on what? The division is a bit empty at the moment but to say second best is ridiculous. What did Rodriguez do and beat that gave you this impression
Based on what fights I've seen of him. He absolutely destroyed Grachev and even against Pryor Jr., I was quite impressed with how he handled an unconventional fighter like that. I guess we shall see how he handles business at 175. I think he can spring some surprises, he'd be a very awkward opponent for any of the guys up there.
If the division empty how is Froch the only guy selling PPV and selling out arenas? The SMW divison brought PPV back to to UK. Its hardly empty when you have the p4p no.2 in it.
Edwin's performance last night says more about Ward than anything else. Rodriguez is a good, consensus top 10 supermiddleweight who was clearly well prepared for Ward's specific style, but he still couldn't stop it.
I felt he won the first two rounds but after the ref cut out all of the clinch it was a masterclass by Ward. Rodriguez could not do anything from the outside.
Just because someone has a great fanbase doesnt mean there are many top fighters in that division. Froch is facing Groves next, both fighters I am big fans of, but Groves has yet to show he is top world class or beaten any top world class fighters yet. Division number 2, which says it all when the division number #2 was beaten by a faded fighter suffering double vision coming off a loss, who had been beaten by the old retired champ
Whats wrong with that comment? Froch has addressed that he often started slow and even then I felt pushed Ward. Froch if aware of the changes he has to make could well do a bit better, though I think age is even more against him than ever now. But if the fight was in the UK, it could have an effect
Different types of fights and different dramas. I cant remember how I scored Froch/Kessler 1 and will have to watch it again to re-score. Froch/Kessler 1 was a far more brutal fight. Not sure why you are asking this. Look at Oscar/Tito which many deemed close, even though it wasnt brutal and then look at Oscar/Quartey which had a bit more action and was deemed by many as close
