If this one's scheduled for the championship distance, then I can't help but think of how badly Ed was fading at the conclusion of Ramirez I. Rosario definitely does not make it to the end of 15.

Duran beats Chapo up worse then Chavez did, and stops him earlier then Julio did. Duran TKO 9.

Duran by ko around 9, along the way though Chapo might stun and drop Roberto.

I'm thinking not. Rosario could punch and may rock Duran a time or two, but Roberto has a little too much of everything. If Ramirez and Chavez busted him up that badly, I hate to think what Duran would've done. With the exception of maybe Ike Williams or Benny Leonard, it's hard to go against Duran at LW.

I always liked Edwin but it's a systematic battering with elbows/knee's & butt's thrown in for xtra value........Duran suffocates Edwin in Violence. Where Chavez phone boothed it on the ropes i see Duran breaking Edwin up ring centre as Chapo's "Crab pincer style" guard is fatal against someone with Duran's feinting skills & varied angles of attack, duran's right hand fails to miss & shatters El Chapo by the 9th.

I recall El Chapo being given the handle back then of "The Duran of the 80's" but then he gets done in 4 by Ramirez second time round, squeezed by Hector, shocks Bramble & gets mugged by Chavez.....he just never got that big money run.....one of my favorites back then.

Duranimal, what contender of champion throughout history do you think could challenge Duran and give him a run for his money?

Duran beats him up and disposes of him the same way he did Cuevas..maybe Rosario gets reprieved by the ref before he goes down, but really...Duran had WAYYY to much on the ball for Chapo..

Red, I've been racking my brains this last week seriously trying to come up with a Lightweight that could out-duran Duran over 15 rounds, i'am looking at the Duran between DeJesus II/III here & it's still a quandry:huh

I'am not that up on the old school but it would have to be someone that had to be more of the box/fighter with power & physical presence obviously combined with deft defensive skills as a must.

There's plenty of slicksters/bangers & pressure fighters throughout history but i'am at a loss to find one that could be classed as the compleate package with regard too successfully decyphering & overcoming Duran's all round technique....in-effect to be able to impose his physical will on Duran & force him onto the backfoot & keep him there without sustaining serious damage along the way!

These are the 3 at Lightweight i'd go to give Duran a run for his money over 15 rounds.......I'am going to go for Armstrong in a war & also Chavez for about 10 rounds until he's driven back & i've always been of the mind that Duran is the only man who could smash Chavez up & stop him late on a TKO.....Whitaker would do well simply by his defensive capabilities but it would'nt win him the fight....simple put, is that to beat Duran at that time you'd need a clone.

There's a few at lighter weights that could in a "all things being equal" H2H make for a great a dirty fight & Eusabio Pedroza has always come to mind & Azumah Nelson....but if Pedroza had been a lightweight then a battle with Duran would have been one of the most vicious foul filled classics of all time:deal
