This content is protected In recent weeks theres been a considerable amount of chatter regarding a potential Edwin ValeroManny Pacquiao fight. Even Freddie Roach chimed in on the subject, stating that Valero might make the most logical opponent. For those of you who have seen him fight, Valero is as tenacious as a wolverine. As punishing as a jackhammer. He has a look in his eyes only a member of the Manson family could appreciate. Some compare him to a younger Manny Pacquiao when Manny was much more undisciplined and aggressive. Jerry Jones was probably licking his chops at the chance to stage a Pacquiao-Valero fight at his Dallas Cowboy stadium. I, personally, would have love to see a Pacquiao-Valero matchup. Although Pacquiao most likely would have dominated him, Valero undoubtedly would have been extremely aggressive and pressed the action. I have no idea if Valero could have moved up to 147 lbs from his current 135 lbs and kept his quickness? Sadly, Valeros inner-demons may get the best of him to the point where this fight cant happen. In 2001, Valero was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that still prevents him from fighting in the United States anywhere but Texas. In September of 2009, it was rumored he physically attacked his sister and mother. Valero has always denied those accusations, but the whispers persist. Then, two nights ago, came the latest bombshell that Valero viciously attacked his wife. She was taken to a hospital in Los Andes, Venezuela, where she was diagnosed with a collapsed lung and several bruises and facial lacerations. Valero is rumored to have been acting "emotionally unstable" and threatening the hospital staff. As this story breaks, it will undoubtedly crush any chance Valero has of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao is all about family and honor. The Filipino people wont like it that hes stepping in the ring with an alleged wife beater. Considering that hes rumored to have beat his mother, well, that will make Valero especially despised in the Philippines. Of course, HBO could always spin Valero as the bad guy on the 24/7 series in promoting the fight, but even they might be scared off of promoting a wife beater. Its a shame, it really is. Valero was one of the Next Generation of fighters who were bringing a lot of excitement to the sport. My best guess is that Valero might sign on to fight Antonio Margarito, although Margarito probably wont come down from 147 lbs. At any rate, this is a very sad story. Valero is a professional fighter who has the capability to knockout most men with a single punch, he has absolutely no right to attack a woman. Hes persona non grata in my book. I certainly wont pay to watch him fight after this latest revelation. Source: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/369218-breaking-news-edwin-valero-puts-wife-in-hospital
the whole thing about pacquiao wont ever step in the ring with him now is abit bull**** i reckon - abit over the top. if he has done this then of course it is very wrong.
I was thinking that as well, unfortunately it was the only link I could find that I could post without risking a ban. Unfortunately I reckon if it isn't the Mayweather/Mosley winner next for Pac I could imagine him in with Margarito, no way will he fight Valero. As referred to in the article though, it's not the first time Valero has done this sort of thing and hopefully charges will be pressed.
Agreed. If Pacman beats PBF in a summer showdown and Valero wins the rematch with his Mum, then it could be on for the autumn.
Probably deserved it. Probably goaded him saying things like "You think your tough beating on American Road-Sweepers, lets see you bring your KO power this way you.................." BOOM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edwin KO1 Mouthy bint :deal
