as this wasnt the first time it happened dont u think some1 shud have looked into his behavour before like his manager or bob arum. this clearly wasnt a random act of violence as he'd beat his wife and his mum before.

i just hope his kids are to young to fully understand what has happened

sad sad incidents to happen R.I.P.

RIP to his wife and condolences to his kids, but I find myself struggling to find any sympathy for Valero himself, whether he has mental health problems or not.:-(

Yep, somebody out there 100% should have looked into him. He was due to go to rehab but it didn't happen quick enough. If I remember rightly he missed his flight to Cuba a few days before which makes it even more tragic

The whole issue is tragic. It is obvious he had issues but those close should have realised and tried to help him. He'd beaten his wife before and had problems with alcoholism yet people allowed them to go away together? This was after he was meant to be sent to Cuba or somewhere to receive treatment :huh. It's a shame that promoters and managers were more interested in making money off the fellow rather than trying to help him.

RIP to his wife and I hope the kids do not suffer, I hope they are in safe hands nowand well looked after.

I think that's probably the only good thing that could possibly come from this. Possibly better/more brain scans for boxers if there was some damage found

I suppose if Ian Huntley had suceeded in his suicide attempt you'd have shared the same sympathy for him? Or is it only psychopaths who box who deserve our prayers?

Just hope he has got money in the bank or assets so the kids
Grandparents can look after them without struggling.

Em... what point are you making? That Valero deserves condemnation for a heinous crime? Yes, he does. But he was clearly a very troubled man. He handed himself in. He didn't run. He didn't lie. He did something awful and we'll never know why because he's dead.

His behaviour suggests someone with a borderline personality disorder, but no one can be sure. I feel sorry for his children more than anything. I feel sad for his wife. I feel sad for him. What a waste, to have a sickness that makes you destroy everything you care about.

Your point about Huntley is as crass as the previous poster's was to Hindley and Sutcliffe. You're trying to compare a child-molesting murderer to a man who appears to have completely snapped?

He tried to get away with it, he lied, he covered up the evidence. When caught he denied it.When he realised he wasn't getting out he 'attempted suicide' which, according to medical reports appeared to be an attempt to be rehoused in a psychiatric unit where he wouldn't be so likely to get stabbed in the arse. That's sociopathic behaviour - self-serving, violent and incapable of remorse.

Valero's is not. He confessed then killed himself. He knew what he'd done and couldn't live with it. That's a troubled individual. It's sad that you don't see the difference.

Good God what a horrible tale, he obviously couldn't live with his own disgusting actions and I believe he did the right thing.
His children would grow up knowing their father who killed their mother was still in their lives at least they one day will be able to move on.
