I could possibly believe that he was hopped up on drugs and alcohol when he murdered his wife and he killed himself once the influence of the drugs/alcohol completely disappeared and he realised to the full extent as to what he had done...but the thugs bit :huh
We dont know, we werent there...........but that current story certainly lacks substance. Maybe the familys decided on the thug theme as it means insurance etc pays out ....Eg. more cash for the kids. No i dont know how insurance pay outs work regarding suicides after unproven murder etc, maybe she wont get even hers (insurance) as he cant argue his case and his murdering her cant be proven, just saying. Maybe some Valero fanboy will come out publicly and say he did it (murdered her), just to save the face of Valero......then hang himself too when he realises hes in a shitter of a slammer. No, i am by no means making light of the situation either. Just a thought and i seriously wouldnt be surprised. Its a funny world. PS. You would expect fundraiser bills/fights where the cash goes to the kids. It will be interesting to see how such themed nights are viewed or undertaken.
Thing is it sounds so unlikely as to be true...if you were going to lie you'd make up something plausible surely....or are they just a bit thick?
True...and we will never know, be it the media or even the family saying such things, we just wont. My only post on the subject before tonight was the possibility of her pulling a shooter on him, obviously a low % given all we know and of course just one of many ideas or reasonings. Imagine ESB if i suggested what the family just said ? Well .....the news/media say they have said this. As said, funny world.
this is the sky sports report, sorry if its already been posted, i've jumped pages of posts. Unbeaten champion Edwin Valero has committed suicide in jail just 24 hours after admitting to killing his wife. The 28-year-old had been staying in a hotel in his native Venezuela when he alerted security in the early hours of Sunday morning that he had stabbed wife Jennifer three times. Valero, who successfully defended his WBC lightweight title two months ago, was detained by police and had been expected to be charged with the murder. However, he was found by a fellow inmate on Monday morning having tied his own clothes to a bar of his cell in an attempt to hang himself. Valero, who was on the verge of the big time following 27 successive stoppage victories, still showed signs of life but authorities were unable to revive him. The fighter had become a household name in Venezuela but had been in trouble with the law on several occasions, notably last month when he was charged with harassing his wife and threatening medical personnel who treated her at a hospital. Police arrested Valero following an argument with a doctor and nurse at the hospital, where his wife was being treated for a series of injuries, including a punctured lung and broken ribs. The Attorney General's Office said a prosecutor had asked a court to order Valero to be jailed but that the judge instead placed him under a restraining order that barred him from going near his wife, a condition he repeatedly violated.
I've just got back form Holiday and just seen this on the BBC page, couldn't quite believe when I heard he'd killed his wife, seems even more unbelievable now I hear he's topped himself!, their poor children what a waste
sad what happened, for his wife and for Valero ruining his career and life! I am part Venezuelan and Vlaero was a huge Icon over there, especially in Merida & Caracas! I was looking so forward to seeing him in the big stage and doing something incredible..
i cant believe he even tried to cover it up, considering he had political backing he might have got away with the murder had it gone to trial and perhaps this was a contributing fact to his own suicide, valero had a huge drug and alcohol problem for someone to do that to ones own family he deserved a lot less in life and boxing brought him to places he never would of reached wiothout them, what a wanker and good riddance to the ****
He was a massively overrated joke of a fighter anyway. He will be judged alongside Tony Ayala by some, as a guy who missed out on maximising his potential, but I think if he'd stepped it up he'd have been annihilated. His power was nothing special either. Totally manafactured record, sloppy fighter. End of.
