Ricky Hatton's trainer Lee Beard says that Edwin Valero is gonna be the likely sparring partner for his superfight with Manny Pacquiao. He also said that Ricky will train in Las Vegas for 5 weeks aswell.

meh. Valero and Pacquiao are nothing alike. Honestly, I really don't get what people see in Valero.

You probably don't get what people see in Valero. Watch him spar & then I'm pretty confident you will understand what/why people in Valero.

All I can is, Ricky Hatton better not underestimate this guy in sparring. Valero hits damn hard & fast!

Excellent choice for sparring for Ricky!

I've seen a number of Valero's fights and don't get it. He's a winger, nothing more. Hatton or Pac would knock him out in three rounds.

not a good sparing partner for Hatton. Valero might be the crap out of him and Hatton might have nothing else for Pacman.

    Forgot to say...

Meant to post last night but completely forgot.

Ricky was out jogging last night. I think he's taking this one very seriously.

EDIT: Maybe not last night, maybe the night before. Can't ****ing remember.

You'll never please some people: For ages people have hyped Valero as the man to knock out Manny. People even said Valero would be a much sterner test than Ricky. Suddenly now that Rickys sparring with Valero people are blind to his qualities.

There's no doubt about it Valero is a fantastic choice of sparring partner, a southpaw with real hand speed and knockout power of similar height to Manny - speaks for itself really. Personally Im surprised Valero accepted the invitation

No surprise to me, just about every single elite fighter Pac has fought used Valero, MAB, JMM, Morales & even DLH.

I would love to see the sparring vid, Hatton vs Valero would actually make for a good fight.

Valero was beating a much bigger ODLH to a pulp in sparring and got booted from camp. I think he will have a field day beating up on Hatton :smoke

It's good practice though and should prepare Hatton for what to expect when stepping in against Pacquiao.
