He doesn't suck. But he's still untested. He hasn't had a breakthrough win yet, I think we can agree on that. But he now deserves the chance and I hope he gets one in his next fight.

Oh and Soto fights NOTHING like Margarito...

  7. I admit, I didn't see the fight. How did it go down?

Valero fought sort of flat footed the starting rounds, he was more cautious though and knew he couldn't just completely bullrush Demarco. Demarco tried to counter punch and throw a jab very rarely (which almost always connected in the early rounds).

Valero pressured Demarco with long, sustained combinations not giving the slower, more hesistant Demarco time to counter punch. I thought Demarco was too hesitant and he showed he could take Valero's punch rather well and land some pretty good counters when he decided to. Gradually Demarco seemed like he was waiting on Valero to tire, or decrease his energy level but it didn't happen.

Valero kept the pressure up and Demarco started to get hit a lot more frequently. Valero actually moved around more and was less flat footed and showed better footwork in the latter rounds.

Good performance but he still leaves his chin at one exact level, doesn't have a lot of torso movement but he does do some subtle defensive moves. I think Demarco was poor.
