    Arum: Valero to fight Prescott
Edwin Valero, THE RING's No. 3-rated lightweight, is close to completing a deal to face Breidis Prescott on July 25 in Mexico, promoter Bob Arum said.

The fight will take place in either Cancun or Toluca, which is near Mexico City, he said.

That should be a pretty good fight. I cant really say if its a step up for Valero, but Presscot showed himself to be a fairly decent fighter. Should be entertaining while it lasts.

    Great fight.

Prescott will be drawn into a firefight and highlight reeled.

Prescott is better than anyone Valero has fought so far and he is only a prospect which puts Valero record in perspective.

You obviously didn't see the hard work he made of the journeyman, the same journeyman knocked spark out by Soto at 130lb. :good

Valero kills this guy, and I'm not a Valero fan.

I've only seen two fights from each fighter. This looks like a great fight though with two powerful punchers facing off. Though I can't give a qualified opinion on who wins I like Prescott better in this as Valero seems like a wild puncher who leaves himself open very often. Prescott punches straighter and keeps hands up so I'll go with Prescott here.

What have we seen from Valero exactly to say he will blow prescott out of the water?

Knocking out a 39 year old dude with a jheri curl flat top that looked as if he just clocked out of work from the construction site he works an hour before the fight does not cut it for me.

Prescott couldnt wash Mosquera's balls. Prescott sucks Valero should destroy him easily.

Prescott's best win is also over a fighter who gets wobbled by a stiff breeze. This coming off of looking VERY pedestrian against Abril.

Let's just say we will learn something about them both if the fight goes off.
