Valero has a chance, he hasnt fought any famous guys yet, but i dont think he's the pushover most say that he is. Soto may have fought more popular opponents, but he didnt really did good in all of em.

Valero may have been this extremely good boxing technician with the supposedly mythical power who was holding his own against Morales and all the other recognizable names in the L.A. gym scene (maybe holding more than his own), but these were all in sparring.

Anyone who saw Valero struggle mightily against "hall-of-fame" bound Nobuhito Honmo would know there's a wealth of difference between Valero the gym sparring partner and Valero the prizefighter. Every time his handlers stepped him up in class Valero had been less and less impressive.

I just didn't see the awesome power against Mosquera, who Valero repeatedly clubbed. Where was the fearsome one-punch knockout power there? Against Honmo he not only was getting his power demystified, Honmo was about to turn the tide until the referee decided this was not in the script.

In his fight in Mexico against Zavaleta, he was even less impressive than his stablemate Linares...in the knockout department! Where Linares delivered a picturesque one-punch knockout, Valero looked like a clueless child running after a headless chicken. Zavaleta was enlisted as Valero's next victim because of his tendency to crouch forward when he gets hurt, but even then Valero had so much difficulty getting that "spectacular" kayo.

I don't even think Valero has ever faced a reasonably big puncher in his career at all.

Humberto Soto should be a step up in class over Vicente Mosquera, and I doubt Valero wins against him, let alone survive the 12 rounds.

Well, that guy is also used to fighting bums and that observation shall be very obvious when they come face to face.

The only "psychological edge" of Valero is that he knows his power is becoming less and less effective as he steps up his competition.:yep
