Was watching a Colombian channel yesterday and for some reason they show a Venezuelan news program. Valero was caught drinking and driving and it seems like recently, he had been illegaly carrying a lethal weapon. They said he's constantly involved in this kind of things. I wonder what they mean, I'm gonna google it.

well i've only seen a little bit of Valero and alot of soto . but i have a feeling that Valero speed will trouble sotot just like the Benoit guy did last time out. ( b4 he got Ko'd)

anyways i think Velro if he keeps landing which he probaly will will ko Soto. like in round 10

shouyld be a war kinda like Popo vs Berrios.

Looks like Arum is interested in having Soto and Valero fight again, instead of having them face different opponents. From Dan Rafael's latest blog...

    ------------------

    VALERO-SOTO

Another fight on Arum's mind is a match between lightweight titlist Edwin Valero and junior lightweight beltholder Humberto Soto. If you've seen either guy fight, you know it has the makings of a terrific slugfest.

Arum wants it to be the co-feature on Nov. 14 on the Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquiao HBO PPV card at the MGM Grand.

"We believe we will be able to make Valero against Soto," Arum told me this week. "That's the fight I want to make."

A few weeks ago, Arum said he hoped to make the match eventually but would probably have each man in separate Nov. 14 bouts. Now, he's changed his mind.

"What changed was I didn't want to do separate opponents because then I have (expletive)," he said. "They should fight each other."

Arum had to convince Fernando Beltran, his partner on Soto and Valero, to support the fight. "My argument to him was, 'Look at the landscape. If Manny beats Cotto, the winner of Valero-Soto could very well be the next opponent for Manny,'" Arum said. "I think Manny fighting the winner at 140 pounds would still do 400,000 or 500,000 [pay-per-view] buys coming off this fight and that is enough to feed everybody."

Before Arum can finalize the fight, Valero needs to be licensed in Nevada. That process is expected to start next week now that Nevada has amended a rule and will now allow fighters who have suffered a cerebral hemorrhage to apply for a license.

"If he's licensed, it looks like we can make the fight," Arum said. "To do it on the undercard of a big match like [Cotto-Pacquiao] is tremendous."

If Arum were to bypass Floyd, I'd shite on Pac and Arum until I died of trying to shite too much lol... I told you a few days ago, and I'm telling you now. It is going on 9 years for PAc, and PAc-Floyd won't happen. Arum has it in for Floyd, Campbell, Bradley, Shane, and Berto.

Valero-Soto is a tremendous fight which I hope happens because it will showcase Valero's unique, precision punching power lol...

As far as I'm concerned, Golden Boy has set the standard for PPV undercards with the PBF-JMM under so in order for Top Rank to match that card's excellence, it will take fights like Valero-Soto. Currently Arum has already announced Foreman-Santos which offers little production value to the casual fan and thus limits the overall potential of the televised portion of the card. Granted Pac-Cotto figures to be nothing short of spectacular and if made, Valero-Soto would indeed be quite an accomplishment, but another intriguing fight would have to be added in order to compete with the completeness of Golden Boy's card. Personally I'm still holding out hope that Khan can be added perhaps against one of Top Ranks 140 lber's such as Peterson or Hopkins. And Gamboa would also be smart addition to showcase him in perhaps the opening televised fight.
