According to Dan Rafael, Bob Arum is considering putting Valero vs. Soto against eachother in a lightweight title match on the undercard of Pacquaio/Cotto. Who would up pick in this fight.

Soto will beat the untested and overrated Valero.

I personally think Valero is abit too strong and aggressive for Soto.
This is by no means an insult to Soto because I really like him as a fighter.

Valero isn't a horrible boxer, if you watch his sparring tapes he isn't a brutal boxer at all. Watch them, he's decent enough.

WHEN he comes to matches though he looks for the K.O too much and so he looks very amateurish. He is by no means a downright crap boxer though.I believe if you look up the Erik Morales sparring tape with him you'll see that.

IMO Valero notches another win and another K.O (albeit a very late one or possibly a T.K.O very late also). This should be a great fight however and I will be eagerly awaiting this.

Soto will be his toughest opponent which is still class B in my book.
If he wins congrats! Finally we can talk about another boxer aside from Mosquera.

If he losses then he's really a HYPE JOB after all!!!

I'd be surprised if this fight happens just yet and there is almost no chance of Arum putting it on the Pacquaio-Cotto undercard. Arum loves to throw out these good undercard fights to keep the interest up. Then he ends up giving us bits and pieces of all the fights he originally lines up. I think Soto is too technically sound for Valero. I think he wins a decision in a very good fight. I wouldn't be surprised if Soto has to come off the floor to win this one.

i've got valero if he can catch soto in either the early or mid rounds (which i think he will). if he can't, which is also a good possibility due to soto's experience and technical skills, soto UD.

Soto should win this fight by TKO. He could very well exposed valero and end his hype train:lol: Let's go soto.

This would be Valero's first test, but I think he takes it

I think Soto gets flattened on this one for one reason, he will get hit..alot. Soto is one of those fighters that might be slower than Valero. That canadian he fought last time peppered him with some good shots but was too small to do damage. Valero overrated as he is, when he connects, doesnt matter who you are at this weight.
