I have seen many of Valero's tomato cans and it is true that he has not fought anyone of real note but I just love his come forward all out attacking style, it will be interesting if he can carry it through to a higher level....I know Pacman rates him......:bbb
i give valero about 30~40% chance of beating soto. he might have feasted on bums but he had beaten a couple of good fighters in mosquera and honmo.
valero is a jr. lightweight at 130lbs.atsch he's the current wba super featherweight champion(that's equivalent to jr. lightweight)
Right, i believe he means that power will only carry him through his current weight class and one higher before his punch is "watered down" so to speak.
maybe valero's power is real but with his power comes his weaknesses, his chin is suspect, he got KD in the 3rd round against mosquera. And lets not forget his brain injury
im pickin soto via wide UD. valero hasn't faced the division's cream of the crop yet. until then, i won't rate him among the elite..
In my own humble opinion, valero isn't even worthy of a guzman fight just yet... facing soto first would be a good acid test for him. if the result favors valero, regardless of the outcome(ko/tko/ud/sd), then i will start to look closely into his future fights.
You think Valero is stronger than Barrios? Guzman may have been a puncher at 122 but if that's how you see him now that would probably explain why you're picking Valero over Soto.
JMM should grab this chance. If he beats Valero, people will be more eager to see him against Pac the 3rd time.
Valero has power, but he does get hit a lot against average fighters and his chin looks average. He hits harder than Soto.
