Valero would not go the distance against Bradley. Bradley has proven over his last 2 fights that he has a warrior mentality. He's not just a slick boxer relying on boxing skills to win pretty decisions. When he's pushed, he pushes back and doesn't back down. He would fu*k Valero up.
Here's why I'm picking Bradley Bradley: Junior witter Kendal Holt Edner Cherry Nate Campbell Valero: Homno (at 130) Zavaleta (at 130) Shimada (at 130) Pitalua (at 135) . . . you can say anything you want on his fight against Holt and Campbell . . . but the fact is . . . Bradley has already taken tough competition at 140 and proven himself while Valero hasn't proven himself even at 135. Pitalua ??? Compare Holt to Valero: Holt has beaten Isaac Hlatshwayo, Mike Arnaoutis, Ricardo Torres, Ben Tackie and Demetrius Hopkins at 140 before he lost to Bradley. Valero has one fight at 135 against an unknown Pitalua and no fight at 140 yet. I'm not saying that Valero doesn't have a chance but it's just a logical pick.
Valero has been avoided on sparring sessions against top fighters, against DLH, Morales. But he has to prove that he can beat the best fighters first at 130/135 before taking a shot against Bradley. If they will be fighting now, Bradley would beat the **** out of that metal-skulled Valero.
Bradley in a close decision. I think he will be too tough, bigger, and skilled for someone who relies on power alone.
Good call actually. That's a component I hadn't thought of - how will Edwin's punch resistance hold up after the ascent...so far the heaviest guy he's been hit by was a 39 year old Pitalua, and Pitalua hit him what...four times, before getting sparked?
bradley via stoppage within three rnds imo. holt hit him with a shot in the 1st round harder than valero is capable of throwing. there's valero's only slim chance gone.
I make it sound like Bradley is an A level elite fighter (in today's sense...not all time elite). Honestly, he is. Many people feel so...media, other fighters, fans, etc. Its not such a crazy thought. And Bradley's chin is suspect??? Cmon man...lets be serious. He got hit with a left hook from a fighter with damn good power...one that would fell a ****ing elephant. Yet he was unfazed, took a knee (brilliant show of ring intellect) and proceeded to win almost every other round. How many fighters in today's game get up from that punch? Very few bro... And how many recover that fast? Again, very few... Bradley boxes his ears off for 12. Id be surprised if Valero could win a round.
