Don't think that Valero can't match him in speed and unlike Gamboa ... Valero is a true come forward fighter with decent footwork and decent boxing skills ... i'm sure against someone like Gamboa ... Valero himself would tighten up and keep his hands up ...

Teddy brought up some interesting facts in the fight. This kid gonzales is a natural bantam while Gamboa is a big feather. Johnny Gonzales another Bantam koed this Gonzales, while Gamboa a much bigger fighter didnt even wobble Gonzales.

If you analyze Gamboa w/o the speed, hes got nothing. Thats recipe for disaster against the elite Mexicans, Lopez, Linares, heck Caballero would put him in a coma

I was always very interested about Valeros career. Im not sold on him beeing able to compete with elite fighters like Pacman and Marquez. This still has to be proven. But he is a damn good fighter with devastating power. People say he only knocked out bums, but well, all fighters fight bums in the beginning, but not all have a ko ratio like Valero. Gamboa, i agree, is a knockout waiting to happen. He goes down against mediocre punchers, he is cocky and sees no need to defend himself. What puzzles me, is he does that from the start, from round 1. At a time he cannot know how hard his opponent hits. He wont change, guys like Gamboa may change when they got knocked out brutally, but as long as he wins, he wont change.
