apologies if this thread has already been made but has valero been stripped of his wbc title as the soto/diaz fight is being advertised for the vacant lightweight title. i dont get this i understand edwin has a horrendus cut and is planning on fighting at 140 for his next fight but this still seems ridiculous. couldnt the wbc sanction this fight as an interim title fight as they no longer have one of those?
This is from WBC website; "By virtue of the statements issued by Edwin Valero, regarding the fact that will no longer fight in the Lightweight division, the World Boxing Council has decided, as a courtesy to the champion, to name him World Champion in Recess, while he makes his final decision. I started a thread on this as well. So Valero is looking to move up to 140 but hasn't fully decided yet.
