I'm not doubting his power. but it looks as if he is just going to keep fighting bums until pacquiao gets old.

he has a guaranteed fight with manny down the line. with this agreement team valero want to play it safe, fight bums and wait for manny to take the fight. bob arum wants to see him fight contenders, names such as guzman and presscot have been rumoured. but team valero are just turning these fights down.

valero should step up and fight the likes of guzman, presscot and diaz to prove that he is a top fighter. if he gets past them then the fight with pacquiao is on.

    Jeff M thinks...

Valero will become elite soon. He will emerge victorious against Pac and Marquez, and then will soon knock out Guzman, Diaz, Soto and even Gamboa. Just watch out,he has all the tools to become the best fighter of this GENERATION.

If you call Prescott a step up then you must give him credit for beating Pitalua.
    Mosquera was another good win.
    The rest are mediocre yes.

styles wise guzman would cause more problems for valero than pac.

valero and pacquiao would be a war, 2 guys standing toe-toe. guzman would box valero, with valero's open style he is open to the counter punch all the time.

Guzman has no power at the weight so there's no way he can deter Valero from walking him down. When Guzman sits his ass on the ropes like usual he'd been in trouble.

Basically, you're nuts if you think that is a harder fight for Valero than Pacquiao would be!:nut

valero's style of walking forward in straight lines with his hands down would allow guzman to just pick him off for fun. valero will be walking on to punches, and the power might not hurt him, but after a couple of rounds the speed will be too much for him to handle.

guzman sat on the ropes against barrios and soto, and the couldn't do ****, so what would valero do different. soto is a better and more accomplished fighter than valero, and guzman took him to skool.

I don't see how they compare to Valero throwing at Guzman when he's on the ropes. They're both slower and less accurate.

Guzman is on a diferent planet compared with Valero,he could beat that bum with one hand tied behind his back.

it would be like Roy Jones-Richard Hall a complete slaughter.

that might be for barrios, but soto is just as good a pressure fight as valero. soto has good speed and carries power in both hands. guzman wasn't hurt once during the fight, valero has shown he hits hard, but its been against nobodies.

he needs to show that he can do it at the top, but he won't fight presscot because if he loses there's no pacman fight.

valero is going to fight tomato cans until he gets exposed by pacquiao.

Yeah, and we saw the balls Manny had by NOT taking the Guzman fight at 130 when it was all but signed...
