Marquez has a solid chin and didn't hit the canvas against Gainer, Norwood 2, John, or Casamayor. Sometimes even the best dropped, but he's never been koed and he has great recovery.
..Funy thing is you try to elevate Valero from where he is right now but once pac demolishes him what would you say...? Valero is nothing but a hype coz there is nothing much to say about his resume'!
its funny in sparring hes mad crazy, he outboxed Morales,Barrera, gave DelaHoya a beating and recently just schooled Antillon. I know its just sparring, but he seems like a totally different fighter in a official bout.
Including 19 in the first round. He looks a bit crude in the ring against overmatched opponents but he is actually a really slick boxer in sparring when he's not trying to gun for 1st round KOs. Against quality opponents like Casa, JMM or PAC he would need to be more patient if he doesn't want to walk into punches all night.
He fought a quality guy in Mosquera... from what I understand his technique has regressed from the time Fisher started hyping him, when he went to Japan but has been picking up again lately since he's spent more time sparring quality opponents in the US.
Yeah, well what will you say if Valero flogs "PAc? Pac was all hype because he beat old men and rarely fought prime Op?
dude, jmm would box valero's ears off. if jmm could bring hell against pac, imagine what he'd do to the crude valero. put him in the ring with katsidis or something. at elast it will be fun to watch while it lasts
One quality opponent out of 24 fights! If you call one out of twenty four a good QAULITY ratio I outta here! If you take out that one quality opponent what's left of the resume to speak of?! Practically Nothing! It's 2009! For a change GET real! :yep
yep, he sparred with oscar in preparation for pac. valero was also accused of "spying" on the golden boy and giving tips to team pac. -i wonder if that'll tamper with his resume and have him blackballed from sparing other fighters..
No one has ever rated him though as being better than Pac, Guzman or JMM. He is still a dangerous fighter though. Although one dimensional, he is still hard to defend against, and has dominated his comp so far. Reminds me of another one dimensional aggresive southpaw that a lot of people used to bag back in the day.... While i don't think he will ever be as good as Pac, as he doesnt' have Pac's handspeed, he is still reasonably quick, hits very hard, and his offense can definitely be overwhelming. He isnt' going to trouble the top p4p guys in the sport, but with time he can still be a tough, dangerous opponent for other guys within the division.
