Valero needs a nemesis. Ali had Frazier and Foreman. Sanchez had Little Red and Gomez. Arguello had Escalera and Pryor. More recently Taylor had Hopkins and Pavlik had Taylor. And so forth. Valero needs to fight some one who can drag him out into deep water so we can see if this boy can swim.
He has power which is good but at 27 im not sure how much more he can improved. For now i see him having a career like arturo gatti who is a big puncher but lack many skills that can make him great. Basically when he fights a good boxer even like a humberto soto, i see him getting knock out cold or TKO.
Valero has skill, he is a good fighter, although I saw him in a fight where he was tapped on his jaw and he went down, that's not a good sign. The clips I've seen of his sparring he has been very dominant and smart.
:huh Valero is not a prospect.. He's past that stage awhile ago.. He's a former title holder at 130 is now a bonafide lightweight contender.
hes an exciting fighter but so far he hasnt acomplished anything and his record is very poor. until he fights a top fighter nobody will know if hes a good fighter or an hypejob.
