It's going to difficult writing this article without sounding like a sexist misogynist, but I'll give it a go.

So Fast-Car recently signed Katie Taylor, who has her pro debut this Saturday on a matchroom undercard. He's also held talks with Nicola Adams over the last couple of weeks about joining matchroom.

Now, can anyone on here honestly say they would pleased to spend their hard earned on watching women box professionally?

It's clear what Edwina is upto. He's seen the support and popularity that Holly Holm managed to assemble and is trying to replicate the same thing in boxing. Not a chance. As much as I loath the UFC, it has a violence and brutality (even at the womens level - which is what's key here) to be attractive.

Watching women pit patter (let's not kid ourselves, it's exactly what they do) each other for 3 x 3 minute rounds or whatever it is is not going attract the masses which is what Hearn is after. And if I'm spending my hard earned on a fight (whether at the event itself or on PPV) I'd rather the undercard not be filled with these pointless exhibitions at the expense of more exciting and worthy undercard fights.

Nicola Adams today said "she thinks we are not far away, maybe a couple of years, from women headlining a fight in Las Vegas." Jesus.

So, womens boxing...interested? Or is it just one big boring snoozefest?

Watching women fight is degenerate and disgusting. But even that aside, the quality is also terrible and not good to to be showcased along side proper boxing. If I'm parting with my hard earned cash to watch a night of professional prize fighting then that's what I want to see. Not splitarses doing two minute rounds pitter pattering at each other.

I think you've also got to remember, men's boxing has been established for decades and decades. Women's boxing hasn't, so obviously the level isn't going to be as good. Over time it will improve as more females take it up and the levels improve, it's the same with any sport.

I would watch a womens fight, doesn't really bother me. At the end of the day, as long as there is a demand it will happen.

Hearn is moving with the times.

Just look over to the UFC and the popularity they've had with the likes of Rousey.

I have zero interest in it. The main reason being that the quality is **** poor. It's such a niche sport. How many women do you know who box? Absolutely **** all. The standard is ****. You have Nicola Adams with the audacity to proclaim herself Britain's best ever amateur boxer. Total disrespect.

Even in UFC the standard is **** poor. Watch footage of Meisha Tate's last fight. Absolutely zero defensive nous and poor striking technique and she was one of the best.

Honestly I guarantee I could take Serena Williams, train her for one year and make her the best female boxer around. It's such a **** poor sport.

So long as Taylor and Adams never actually headline a card as the final fight, I don't mind. I'll just have a wank when they are on in the undercard.

I think he's testing the water plus Taylor will be a ticket seller- I don't mind the premise of women's boxing so long as the safety aspects of the sport are identical to the men's.

I also think Hearn has done this to wind up Frank who isn't a fan of women's boxing at all.

Think you might be out of luck there as I think Taylor is headling this week.

It's a cheap marketing ploy to try and appeal to a wider market. It'll flop. Women should not fight.

Not so sure tbh. Taylor is fighting some Pole with an awful record and I think she'll probably blow her out quickly.

Scarpa and O'Hara could be a decent fight so I think (and am seriously hoping) that's the main event.

What a buzzkill it would be to see the last fight and a woman just destroys another woman in a technically **** match.

Tbh I'll be watching the Boxnation card anyway at that point.

    Eurk just eurk.

It will be awful but it will be a hit. I dread the day when i pay for tickets for a big fight and have to watch that on the undercard. I'd rather watch the hair ragging, stiletto jabbing cat fights in town after it. Well more entertaining and if you're lucky, you might get to see some fanny and boobies :eeeeek:

Honestly i don't have a problem with it. I wasn't watching Adams fight in the Olympics and thinking anything about the fighters gender.

If it results in good entertaining fights it will work. If it doesn't it won't.

    It's that simple.

Most boxing is pathetic now anyway.
Might as well let the girls have a go.

Happy to give it a go but to date I've not seen a women's fight that I've really enjoyed. Always seems to lack the killer instinct found in (some) of the men's fights

Taylor is very very good as is Shields from America, it's whether or not there is enough comptition. There are some fantastic women boxers out there now but even as far as an ABA final you can see big gulfs in class, hopefully this move will see the talent pool deepen as it becomes a viable option for women
