    1. Most women hate boxing or fighting sports in general from my own personal experience. None of the women in my life now or in the past have wanted to watch it.

    2. 99% of subscribers to box nation are men. 99% of buyers of Sky boxing ppv are men, and as you can see her 99.5% of posters on boxing forums are men.

    3. Based on point 1 and 2, no. The interest is not there. Its like saying if we accept more women becoming scientists or refuse collectors more will go into these professions...
They will not because those careers do not appeal to them. Its personal choice which is clearly equality of opportunity.

The fact that people on this forum are arguing with you suggests there's some interest in female boxing from general boxing fans.

Personally, I only tend to follow men's boxing in the heavyweight class.

But if people want to watch p!ss weak little guys like Carl Frampton, or even women, trying to fight then that's up to them.

Are these actual statistics or a figure plucked from your head?

Hearn recognises that there's a market to tap into to. He's a business man.

I do get your point though.

The sky news box office and boxnation figures come from themselves. I do not have sources.

In terms interest. There are 3500 members on this forum, how many women are on the only thread dedicated to women (this one)?

This definitely tells us at the very least that on one of the biggest internet message boxing boards dedicated to British boxing, that there are 0 members around and interested enough to post on the only thread dedicated to womens boxing. Man that is a pretty poor showing, excuse the pun.

Yes, Eddie is copying other US promoters who have had a nibble at the womens market and failed. Where are these same US promoters putting women boxers on any major cards on a regular basis? They have been at this for far longer than Eddie has been. The USA is 7 times the size of England and they still cannot get it to regularly appear alongside the mens version. But I am sure Eddie is a genius and will make it work out (sarcastic)

Sorry to take a dump on certain peoples parade here, but the facts speak for themselves.

Male boxing fans are arguing with me. However where are the women?:zlumi:

On a forum with 3500 members (approximately), one of the biggest around on boxing, there is not a one female poster anywhere who has found this thread . I think that speaks for the level of interest in womens boxing, both in terms of watching and participation than any other statistic.

What do female boxing fans have to do with anything? There will be enough male boxing fans following Katie Taylor to maker her a success financially for both the fighter and the promoter.

Whether it will be a breakthrough for women's boxing or not I don't know. But Katie's style of boxing will make her very popular in Britain with the sky platform and she's already capable of selling out big arenas in Ireland due to her unprecedented amateur success.

Katie will be a big success, I've no doubt about that. And if any more female fighters come through who have the fan friendly style she does coupled with the matchroom/sky platform promoting them, they will also be a success.

"**** weak"... Where are you getting that from? Lb for lb he's probably a hell of a lot stronger than most people here and probably even stronger outright if we were talking resistance training. I'm guessing he walks around near 140lb between fights. I know 140lbers who can bench and squat ridiculous weight.

Not that it matters much but just pointing out that that's a pretty silly statement.

Proof that 0.028571% of the membership is female and active.

Yep bud, the female interest in boxing is really strong.

By that I mean both in terms of participation as a boxer and watching as a viewer.

And what? We shouldn't have women boxing, what's your point?

Women's boxing will grow, despite what thimble of the world's population you claim is only interested in it.

Compared to a elite male heavyweight, in boxing strength terms, he's p!ss weak - but I could be wrong.

The possible silliness of my statement highlights the possible silliness and outright sexism of the statements made against women's boxing.
To say the best women boxers are sh!t because they have "no power", "no strength", "no explosiveness" can equally be applied to most male featherweights, bantamweights, flyweights.

I don't think it's necessarily silly to prefer big, powerful, explosive boxers but I'm sure there's some sexual discrimination going on when people use that as guise to downgrade women boxers but will then turn around and watch little men when they don't have to.

The sex of the interested fans is irrelevant.
    Interest is interest.

Look at the women's UFC - it's mostly supported by men and has been a huge success. If women's boxing is promoted and presented properly it will do well. It's quite simple really.

There are a few very strange men on this forum. Failing to disguise the fact if women's boxing were to succeed it would hurt them. You guys have issues!

Agreed. But for me that's not why u have little interest in women's boxing. Like I said, it's because I'm not convinced that there is an adequate talent pool to stimulate competition.
