I've realized more and more that practicing my uppercut on the heavy bag is not something I can or particularly want to do. I'm currently not working with pads, and there is no "uppercut bags" at my local gym facility, so does anyone have any ideas on other viable methods to work on uppercuts? Or maybe I should be able to practice my uppercut on the heavy bag, and I'm just not throwing my uppercuts "correctly"? By the way, I'm no longer an amateur fighter. I just train in boxing as a hobby.
Hang some tires and there you got a bag for uppercuts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spoc6DrV1Bg Like that but using 2 tires and a little higher.
Just a point of clarification: I'm not talking about "hookercuts" or "uppercut variants." Rather I'm talking about "pure uppercuts." Ok. Yes, I've thought long about how to throw "perfect" uppercuts and don't know if I'm doing as much. Yes, shadow boxing is always helpful. But I wonder if there is more. Interesting. Good stuff. I'll see if I can try that out.
