What do you think about his place in mexican all time list? Top 20, Top 15, Top 10? This underrated fighter of strong era had solid opposition
Dunno, the Mexican list is pretty exclusive, and I've never gone past 10 when ranking, just included some HMs who could bump it to 15. So I don't about his placement there, but I will say that his fight with Chionoi is absolutely brilliant.
His Fights vs Accavallo and Ebihara is worth watching too. Guy beat Chionoi, Hanagata, Medel, Octavio Gomez, Mojica, Allotey and old Pasqual Perez
Pretty damn good and very exciting. He fought them all and in a damn good era for flyweights. He was very popular in Guadalajara. His younger brother fought Zárate in one of his final bouts before the title. His nickname was little scorpion, of course Efren’s was scorpion (alacran).
For me its like breath of fresh air, because in my country there's no so big boxing forums with a lot knowleadgeable people. Their interest usually not so high, especially at lower weights and boxing before 1950's
I thought the world needed more Efren Torres And I made this highlights Welcome guys: This content is protected
I’d need to see more of Torres to pass judgement. I’ve seen his fights with Chionoi (first fight), the pasting he took from Olivares and the Ebihara fight as well. He lost all of those but he was unfortunate against Chionoi due to the cut and he met the other two on top form. Unfortunately, my main memory of those two fights is how he went down identically each time - pitching forward like he’d been shot at close range.
