We all know the scene, where Rocky breaks several eggs into a cup and drinks them. Is this recommended? What nutrients are there in eggs? Does it make you sick? haha thanks
Smalls once advised me on this and ever since if I ever need a protein source (if I have no protein shakes for example) I get half a glass of milk and crack like 3/4 egg whites in, not the yolk though (because it gets dirty and tastes dirty) and knock it back so, yeah I've done it on and off for a year so no worries go for it.
The yolk gets dirty? Did you have to have it in a glass of milk or did that just help? thanks for the advice
I just mean like it gets messy IE: it sticks to your teeth and the glass, it also tastes ****ing rank. Basically half a glass of milk then crack 3/4 egg whites in, or if you want some flavour then add it to a yazhoo milkshake or something.
I do believe the yolk has most of the vitamins etc but for a quick protein fix I find it helpful, other people just think I'm a ****ing moron but hey lol.
The idea is to do it for protein. If you track your macronutrients then you'll know if you're getting enough. There are easier and less disgusting ways of getting enough protein.
i swear by raw egg whites when i'm putting on muscle. whites are low in fat and they dont taste that bad - but if it bothers you just have a glass of water or milk afterwards six in the morning, six before bed - costs a fortune!
I've been doin it for a while after after workouts, like other posters have said though, i just use the whites.
I've done it for years because I don't eat a lot of meat and even buy the liquid egg whites from Myprotein now. I'd go only one-third with the yolks though, although if you buy Omega3 eggs you could maybe go half and half full egg and whites. I've read that eggs are one of the most complete food sources out there, but there are far better qualified people than me on ESB to tell you exactly what's what.
4 egg whites one whole egg and a tiny bit of milk it doesn't taste of anything and you get a lot from it. Surprised to see virus say its pointless.
Not sure how reliable this is, but it might help: http://www.livestrong.com/blog/blog/nutrition-debate-are-eggs-good-for-you/
It turns out that a huge benefit of taking a couple eggs first thing in the morning is that it keeps your metabolism high for the rest of the day, thus making it easier to burn fat and keep the weight off. 30g of protein within 30 min of waking up does the trick. People who don't eat in the morning go into perceived starvation mode which lowers the body's metabolic rate making it retain as much carbs from your daily intake as it can, rather than burning it up. You could substitute bacon, meat or whatever, but the weight loss from the higher metabolism far outweighs the 30g you're taking in, which is the equivalent of a couple of eggs.
