I generally have 4 eggs ( daily ) whipped up and made like omelette, maybe mixed with a cup of olives and a shredded onion. ( no milk ) Is four yolks too much ? I remember reading ages ago that the maximum daily intake should be two, regarding cholestoral ? I will do a google also. Appreciate replys Cheers :thumbsup
i have 20ish eggs a week, i have had a cholestrol test and it's low, so it's not a problem for me, but people have different levels of cholestrol go to see your doctor and have a test and he can let you know if it's a problem.
Dietary cholesterol (in food) has no influence on blood cholesterol (the one that matters) at all, none. Only a few percent of your total cholesterol comes from food, about three or something. The more cholesterol you eat, the less your liver produces. What influences your cholesterol levels is your overall internal health. Cholesterol is not the cause of trouble but a result, since it's needed to produce cortison (and many other things), which in turn is needed to combat inflammations. Blaming cholesterol for bad health is like blaming the fire department for burning down your house. Eggs are one of the healthiest foods nature has to offer, and the yolk contains half the protein and almost all of the nutrients. Eat as many eggs as you want.
Just had four with the yolks. I did a search and some people are using eggs in an atkins type mode. Eating about 30 odd a week, well am gonna keep with them, more eggs mmmmm Eggs, fruit, veg and str8 lean meat, and tons of spices. Getting sick of tinned tuna for lunch, i am always on the go and its very hard not to eat takeaway when everyone else is. I know theres a sticky for recipes, but any chance of a sticky for snacks and stuff RDJ ? Peoples ideas, what they have etc.... Appreciate the replys ppl Thanks, some good info :good
Plus milk (whole unpasteurized), buttermilk, (fresh) cheese, fish, nuts and seeds (flax for instance), herbal teas, etc :good I'm a big fan of teas and soups when it comes to getting my phytonutrients. None. Just put them in the recipes thread
I eat 2 boiled eggs every morning and my missus constantly has the windows open if you know what i mean. 6 a day would get me thrown out. I was recomended no more than 10 per week and if you have any more than that take the yolk out and just have the white.
The throwing the yolk away advice literally drives me insane. Why the **** would you throw the best part away? Half of the protein, out the window. All the nutrients, gone. Why not just eat one egg instead of two while throwing half away? It's insane, and there is no reason for it at all. If you get gassy because you eat too much protein, how will eating 6 half eggs be better than eating 3 whole eggs? It boggles the mind really.
I know mate I hear it all the time as well, it just pisses me off. The completely outdated cholesterol story is always mentioned. After that has been debunked there's the eggs are high in saturated fats blabla, which they are not and even if they were it's only a few grams of fat anyway and saturated fat is only a problem when gaining weight.
For years I ate 14 eggs a day (6 in the morning, 2 in afternoon and 6 at night). This had no effect to my health but my farts stunk
