    But of course... Marciano, Frazier, Tyson, and the like. The odometer turns over faster/ shorter half-life.

    Nevertheless I can recall shortly before MT lost to big, clumsy McBride many here were claiming that if Mike got serious he could "clean out" the HW division (essentially beat the K bros) o_O It was cringey then and MT's comeback talk among some fans is getting back to that level. If Mike wants to fight someone near his age range, fine. Not the current top guys under 35 or even under 40.

    Yep, and you had the "new model" in David Tua, whom many considered a younger and fresher version of Iron Mike - not as good as the Real McCoy from the latter half of the cocaine and big hair decade, but far better than his sad doppelganger parading around in the late nineties and early aughts. I was as guilty as the next guy of assuming Tuaman would run through everyone at HW including K2 if given the chance, under the assumption that anybody halfway decent with a style like Mike's would cut it :oops:. But no, you wouldn't have caught even me dead saying Mike himself could've done it post-Colossus. Tua of that era >> Tyson of that era, whereas Tyson in his pomp was a better fighter than both of them (his future self and Tua) combined. :thumbsup:

    Tyson had a young man's brawler style aka Rocky Mariano, Joe Frazier, Henry Armstrong etc whereas Lewis was a big tall rangier boxer mover aka Ali, Holmes which allows for a longer career.

    The former all of them showed decline in their late 20's and were retired by 30 whereas the later had longer careers and were effective for a longer time period till their late 30's
