    Nah...Chaniev was wobbling all over the place; had Cole done what other officials have been doing and ask Chaniev to step in a particular direction, I doubt the Russian would have been able to comply.

    Yeah, not all major org top-10 ranked boxers are necessarily elite - and Chaniev is among those who earned his shot but was decidedly not elite (albeit that still leaves a lot of ground between him and "Bumsville") - but @ellerbe has been making a habit of this lately, moaning every time somebody in a televised bout is someone he in his extremely casual fandom he never happened to have previously heard of, in an effort to denigrate the victors, or the network he's fighting on, the promoter he's with...I'm not exactly sure what his agenda is, precisely, but whatever his ends the MO employed in their service has been the same: overweening negativity and discounting anybody that hasn't graced the cover of Ring Magazine as being worthless and unfit to defile his eyes in a televised world title match. I've grown very weary of his schtick.

    I'd never seen the other dude, but Commey is battle tested. Not surprised he blew him out.

    Commey came up the hard way and hasn't had the best breaks in his career. Glad to see him get a title.

    26 minute live boxing drought, and counting. Even if Valdez and Tommasone go the distance (fat chance) there's going to be another 25 minute gap before the main card starts on ESPN+ at midnight.

    ...and Valdez is going to ice Tommasone in no time flat, IMO, so really we are looking at like a solid hour of filler ahead. :sisi1
