    Álvarez is jabbing into the chest and stepping away to dodge the Kovalev 1-2. Álvarez slightly hurts Kovalev with a surging two-piece falling inside. Kovalev answers back with his own power shot pivoting in. Kovalev staying at mid-range setting up his offense with his jab, shooting it up into Álvarez's chin from below, carrying it at rest just below his chest. Right hand by Kovalev, scoring and buzzing Álvarez slightly.

    Alvarez looks strong. He looks like he is bigger in the upper body. He's too tentative though to be winning these rounds.

    Kovalev is fighting a fairly perfect fight so far but it’s nervewracking because it’s unclear how long he’ll be able to stay to this form and not revert to mistakes that cost him his last fight

    a more experienced fighter will keep working the body, but Alvarez might get hit hard and stop.. He has to keep it up.. Kovalev has to keep the jab working. I didn't think it would work in this fight.
