Its an example IMO of the still evolving sport that MMA is. We just recently watched Tito Ortiz retire and what was Tito most famous for as far as his fighting went ? Thats his brutal elbows on the ground. Tito made a career out of it now we have guys Jones using elbows like its a jab, Nate and Weidman using it to KTFO people.
I don't see that at all. Nate is a veteran. He's been doing this a looong time. When was the last time you saw a clinical finish like that with elbows? Personally to me it shows the gulf in class between the new school and old skool fighters.
They were nice shots, but not really a combo of the quality of Nate, more bludgeoning someone until they fell down or the ref stepped in Nate threw 4 different strikes, from 4 different angles and each were place perfectly and he only doubled up on the elbow
Ok yes Nate is a veteran whos been around for ever but more and more and more we are seeing standing elbows and they are knocking people out. This hasnt always been the case.
