I said the top dog, Hopkins was more than capable of beating other guys at the top of the division including possibly Stevenson.

Compared to what he was in his prime yes, you used his name as some kind of achievement, he didn`t have much in the tank he was really getting on in years.

Guys who don't have much left, don't school 3 solid fighters in a row. It's a solid very good win for Kovalev. @Rumsfeld school this fool a little on this subject. :deal:

Very in depth mate, very comprehensive. South American fighters often get schooled by the very top tier, they usually lack a little polish, kinda goes along with what you posted, their warriors more so than boxers, machismo over technique. The coaching standard down there may have something to do with it. Alvarez is a bit different though, seems Kov dropped the ball first time around, gave Alvarez the opportunity to get 'lucky'. Class tells in the end!

That was part of it, yeah. But he was also gassed from getting punched in the dick and wrestling with Ward. That's why I don't really...credit Ward for either of his wins against Kovalev. I think it's ****ing impossible to watch the first fight unbiased and think Ward one and in BOTH fights Ward wasn't even boxing within the rules. I can't respect that. Even if you ignore the finish he was STILL cheating up to that point. And yes, cheating. These aren't accidents when they keep happening.

There are some dirty fighters that I'm completely fine with. Maidana, Tyson, Porter isn't what I call "dirty" but he's rough. I think I'm fine with them because they FIGHT you in the boxing ring. Ward gets a lot of credit for being a master boxer when he's not even boxing within the rules of the sport. It's weird to me.

What's the eyebrow for? You're the one who said that Hopkins was finished, yet he was coming off of schooling 3 legit contenders at Light Heavyweight in their early thirties or late twenties, maybe it's you that deserves the eyebrow.o_O Because that's not something that finished fighters typically do.

Alvarez has 12 knockouts but all his knockouts were hard dropped and hurt. I think he looks for the perfect shot. he did the same vs bute, Bute to me actually was beating Alvarez too. then alvarez landed a massive shot. and bute was very badly hurt but on his feet and a second punch put Bute down.

Let's Give Kovalev a lot of credit. I know he switched trainer a lot. but the trainer he just dumped was a nobody, Kovalev basically trained himself. McGirt is usually a trainer I don't like because he turns movers flat footed, but for fighter who are already a bit flat footed he does well for got Kovalev to not blow his wad, I do feel Alvarez did not leave it all in the ring however, he seemed not mentally prepared.

I disagree about Kovalev being flatfooted. What makes you say that?
