I glad for Alvarez, he has been a contender since like '97! Good fight. I guess Browne is going Downe.

Perfect step up from Slava and just good enough to help prepare him for unification after his back to back losses to Ward.

Good fight. :chuck:. Kovalev should win, but Alvarez will do better than Mikhalkin and Shabranskyy.

Wow, this is a pleasant surprise, didn't know it was being worked on.

Kovalev gives this guy the beatdown his hubris has been asking for for a few years now.

Alvarez is a spoiler plus he has been waiting for a chance like this for ages and another title shot doesnt seem likely ( him and Beterbiev have the same coach ) so he'll fight his a** off. This gonna be a good fight.

Strangely enough, beating Alvarez might be Kovalev’s best win.

Alvarez is not really that good. And, he is nowhere near the threat that Bivol or Beterbiev would be. But, at least it is a step up from the last two bums Kovalev fought to try and rebuild his shattered psyche.

I agree. And I still think he’d be Kovalev’s best win.

Easy work for the Krusher, who usually performs fairly well against Southpaws, and Mikhalkin was the perfect guy to prepare him, in some ways Igor is a trickier version of Alvarez. Not to say Eleider is a scrub, he'll present Kovalev with a few issues, he's defensively a little more sound then Igor and Caparello, but I have a sneaking suspicion he may also be a bit more glass jawed. He was rocked hard by both Prieto and Pascal.

    Alvarez isn't a lefty, though.

Brain fart. I just got back in from being outside for the last 3 hours, doing yard work in near 90 degree weather. :flaming::grazy:

Oh well, I forget, that's just how little I care for Eleider Alvarez.
