Elephant in the room. When will Usyk start noticeably declining? He's 35 in 4 months.

I think a lot of people are missing out on the fact that against lumbering heavies, he can afford to be a bit slower and still be the fastest, whereas the extra weight/pnuch resistance will do him good...ala 70's Ali!

He said after the fight that he'd fight Joshua anywhere, even in space. He also said he wants year with his family as he's been away a lot the past 3 yrs. On the other hand, Hearn is talking about Feb/March for the rematch, which ain't happening.

It depends on how much money has has put away. And where he wants to live. It's cheap to live in Ukraine if he settles down there.

If his stamina is any indication then it's already happening. Usyk typically ends fight strong but he lost a lot of pop in his punches late in the fight against AJ.

it all depends on 2 things: 1. How much sustained damage he takes in fights. 2. His lifestyle outside the ring. From what I know, he lives a pretty active lifestyle, doesn't drink too much or party, or doesn't indulge in food and baloon up. Also he's never been in huge wars where he gets knocked down or takes huge shots. so if he continues like this he can go to 38-39 years old. all his faculties will be sharp. IMO

After shamefully ducking Hrgovic, Hunter doesn't deserve to share the ring with Usyk again IMO!

He ducked Hrgovic that is true but if both wanted the fight i see no reason for there to not be a rematch. Michael Hunter has a chance imo

Professional boxers at that weight start to go off at 37-38 and are done at the highest level by 40+

I don’t see why Usyk would be an exception.

He needs to get that bag (or a few more) to secure his family for a few generations.

Yup and this should be his absolute priority. Secure his family's financial wellbeing upto his great grand children.

It's possible to have declined and still be the best. What you said makes no sense...

Idiotic thread. Only a loser would be talking about serious decline when someone just had one of their best performances. If Usyk thought like that, he'd never have won anything.

Usyk and every boxer should continue boxing until they see a genuine reason to stop, not just "my record is perfect, lets quit now".

I don't see boxers who end their career with losses necessarily as inferior fighters. If you fight long enough you'd probably lose eventually.

Again he is deep in the decline line. Whoever not see this is either not following Usyk closely through his career, or got no eye for it.
Last time he was prime was against Gassiev. Usyk was so so much more quick and faster, way more explosive, and his reflexes was next level. Just because he is that good, doesn't mean he is still in his prime.
31-32 is the time you are starting to decline. Again not everyone could be going into their 37 and still look in their prime, like Klitschko brothers.

His best bet is if he doesn't care about the money or have enough to call it a day right now, or fight Joshua in the rematch, and then 1 more fight against Fury or so, and call it a day.

Hunter was destroyed back in the day, no matter how much declined Usyk is, he is never ever going to lose to Hunter. That guy is so overhyped on here for absolutely no ***** reason.

No chance. Hunter is noticeably slower at HW, hes slowed down way more than Usyk but Hunter also carries a lot more pop with all that weight
