Elie Seckbach gets thrown out of Gym by Fury

That anology doesn't work. This was a media days and throwing out a journalist because one doesn't like what they write or video is an attack on the press.

Fury on the other hand could have another reason for doing what he did.

 

Agree it was a dodgy analogy, but the point still stands that removing a journalist you don't like from a gym doesn't equate with censorship. You're right that it's a bit of a dick move, and I'm not sure what exactly I would call it, but censorship I wouldn't.

 

Is he really a member of the press though?

As a professional journalist you train, you have a set of ethics (don't laugh) that govern your profession. When you're covering an event or sport you're making a commitment to honesty and fairness in your reporting, or at least you should be.

This guy seems to want it both ways, he wants to troll and play favourites like a fan and still be considered a journalist when he wants content for his site. That blurring of the line isn't helpful to the cause of professional journalism and it's the reason that some of the decent people who are trying to make it work as independent journalists on new media struggle sometimes for acceptance.

This is a long winded way of saying I think Eli is a twat.

For a boxing journalist he’s absolutely incapable of being professional so in the case of Fury and others they have decided to treat him the way he’s used to.
