There is a video of Seckbach benching 2 plates on a smith machine (about 200 pounds). After he is done Sechback tells Rios to do it and Rios says he can't. Is Sechback physically stronger than Rios? I can't believe it.

Even if he was, what difference does it make to Rios?

Plus, anyone using a smith machine and bragging about being able to lift heavy should be ashamed of themselves.

Bench press on a smith machine is the measure for physical strength now??

What would a boxer even be doing a bench press for, you don't punch with your shoulders, the force comes from your legs and your core.

If Elie can snatch or even clean that weight, considering his size then I'd be very impressed.

You don't primarily bench with your shoulders either, although they are involved in the motion.

He weighs more than Rios. It's hardly a surprise if he has greater 'absolute' strength.

Strength relative to bodyweight is something else again..

    1. It's on a smith machine.
    2. Both spotters holding the bar on a smith machine. Seriously?
    3. It's on a smith machine.
    4. It's probably around 190lbs. The bar weighs 25kg on a smith machine? Come on.
    5. It's on a smith machine.
    6. Who cares about bench, particularly when it's on a smith machine?
    7. And finally, you can't prove anything strength-wise using a frickin' smith machine.

no doubt about it the smith machine really does take away the strength part, heck i can bench that weight on the smith machine and im only 140. Thats how easy it is, now if were talking about the acuall bench and barbell well :-(

I think Rios probably could lift that, I think hes one of these boxers who doesnt use weights and probably thinks it will **** his punch mechanics and flexitbility up, if not then really he has no need to bench hes a boxer why risk injuring your shoulder on a smith machine, and last of all **** no dilly sick**** is not stronger than rios, just no.
