Escopeta, like who? Do you mean top 10 p4p, because Rojas is the WBC champ and is ranked as the #4 featherweight by Boxrec and #7 by the Ring.

I think he would be a very good step up for Gamboa, not as dangerous as a Caballero, but not a pushover like, as cubanborn says, guty espadas or maybe even concepcion.

On a side note, I don't understand why Juanma is going after Concepcion, who lost to Luevano, who he already beat. I just don't get it:huh

yeah Rojas would be fine for me as any top 10 featherweight. the important thing is that he steps up in class now..
Concepcion vs Luevano was close until he knocked him out after the bell.. since he is with toprank i feel its not that surprising that he is in that Juanma and Gamboa to clean up the division game..

Mi amigo PuertoRiqueño, when we look at both Gamboa's and Lopez's first 18 bouts, ( since Yuriorkis only has 18 bouts, we can only compare up to 18 fights ), we can clearly see that Gamboa has fought better opponents. Only after those 18 fights, is when Lopez has fought the better opposition. Just check both fighter's record on BoxRec and you will see that Yuriorkis has fought tougher fighters right from the start...

Even though many of Gamboa's opponents are not very famous, they still had good solid winning records, and Gamboa even beat 2 undefeated fighters in Marcos Ramirez ( 25-0 ) and Jonathan Barros ( 28-0 ). Gamboa has'nt faced a single fighter with a losing record yet like JuanMa has, all of Yuriorkis' foes have had " all winning records "... :good

    Que Dios te Bendiga...

Believe me, Juanma wants no part of Gamboa. Neither does Arum.

this is a stupid way to look at it and the only reason you are using this type of reasoning is because it makes your boxer look better... but gamboa is older than juanma and both are champions so you cant go by number of fights and records... after both became champions who has fought the best opposition... juanma has won belts in two weight classes while gamboa keeps fighting nobodies no matter what the record saids when he fights them they're still chumps... remember a boxers record only tells half of the story

If Gamboa doesn't fight JuanMa, Caballero or John next this would be a good fight.

Man, I am boricua too as you already know. I would love for Juanma to defeat Gamboa and I think he has the talent to do it. BUT, last few fights I expected Juanma to improve in some areas and fix some mistakes he makes. I didn't see none of that. I honestly would love to know what is going on with Juanma's training. Gamboa has way too much boxing experience. Juanma cannot make those mistakes in front of Gamboa and expect to win. He needs to be at his best to have a chance

I would love to see the boricua win. However, Gamboa is such a nice guy I will not mind seeing him go all the way to the top.
