Virus why is a lot of cardio really doesn't help boxers we're taught that winning starts on the road and that without cardio you're like a toothless Doberman so the question is why doesn't a lot of roadwork help .

Cardio is important but most boxers overdo it, particularly running.

The reason you're told that running is oh so important is basically because most coaches don't know what else to do. Simple as that.

    :good

Indoor Rowing, Swimming, Sprinting, 800 Meter runs and Sled/Prowler work would be the bulk of my cardio work outside of my skill-training (Boxing).

Doing roadwork isn't giving you boxing fitness. If you fight 12 rounds it might have more relevance, but it's still not boxing fitness.
You're draining energy that could be spent on getting stronger/more powerful, and developing boxing fitness.
In the old days everyone thought that for every sport you run for a long time to get fit, without understanding energy systems or how specific fitness is.
That's obviously been left far behind, apart from boxing for some reason.

Ignorance is bliss for boxing coaches. Makes their lives easier when they can spew the same **** day after day, year after year.

Progression and knowledge. Who needs that? Just be a boxing coach and throw out uneducated, outdated bull**** all day.

You might wanna go to a podiatrist and look for things like one leg being longer than the other or high arch feet. You can get orthotics custom made to your feet or get lifts to balance things out. Some people aren't as well designed to run 15 miles a week. I have no idea how some people run 60 miles per week. Not everyone is that durable
