Body hooks by Katembo. Pocket slugfest, both getting a bit wild and missing behind each other's heads. De Klerk driven into a corner by a series of right hands driven down from above into his temple. Down he goes facefirst, completely out.

Laryea has the odd blonde checkerboard hairdo, and has the brighter pair of white & blue trunks (the Congolese and Ghanaian combatants have identical footwear - same tone blue shoes and white socks pulled to exactly the same length up the ankle). Muvud also wears his name above his crotch and the DRC flag on his thigh.

 

10-9 Laryea, very busy jab, snapped Muvud's head back with it a few times, and just narrowly missed a few times with a dangerous looking right hand.

Laryea is 12-0 (11), and the hometown hero comes in 9-3-1 (5). We might see the day's first upset by the away team here...

 

Muvud's reaction to being hit is to dash backward in a straight line and then jog in place twice with his arms lowered. That's maybe as bad a predictable & timable habit/tell as you can have in this game.

Muvud became more active, falling in with a 1-2, scoring at times but always taking receipts.

 

Muvud now ducking and weaving, sneaking left hooks on the body at his nadir and coming up for air with jabs in the face of Laryea who just keeps turning in place and recalibrating aim with his own jab. Encouraging signs for the Kolwezi faithful.

Good action fourth. Center of the ring, jabbing each other in the face in multiples while circling at close range. Tit for tat, Laryea maybe a little busier, and popping in some quick rights on the nose. Muvud tries a big sweeping hook and whiffs. A few brief clinches here and there as they flurry together stuck but mostly a cleanly fought contest.

I started this RBR for the lulz / out of boredom, but honestly this main event is unironically a pretty good watch.

 

Muvud driving forward, egged on by the crowd, swinging big uppercuts from behind his back with either hand, driving Laryea into the ropes! Laryea countering with jabs and straight rights on the backfoot, then whacking Muvud just behind his ears with hooks to get off the ropes. Laryea spins Muvud into the ropes and they keep teeing off while leaned into each other.
