this guy was a great amateur but as a pro...:bart.. journeymen were able to take him out with ease.....no type of chin......ill never forget watching on espn friday fights where rich lamontagne scoring a scary highlight reel ko on him...i even saw clips of his last fight, in some gym or whatever, in which he was stopped in the final round leading on all cards...thankfully he retired

    also nate jones

good amateur who won a bronze medal in the heavyweight class at the 96 olympics....didn't amount to anything with as a pro...was brutalized by lamon brewster in his last fight..was forced into retirement shortly after doctors diagnosed him with diminished reflexes, speech & memory...was near destitute and couldnt find a job after that until his old olympic teammate floyd mayweather gave him a job in his camp...they touched upon this on one of the hbo 24/7 episodes.

funny thing about this guy.. he has sent my current gf nude photos of him in the past even before i was with her and has tried to steal her away from me but shuts him down..she thought he looked like a fat slob..and she has never even seen him fight until i showed her some clips of him on youtube...:rofl what a loser this guy is for real...as big as he is only scoring 4 ko's...i was praying adamek would knock him out in his last fight but losing a decision that fight would have to do

slight exsageration there... it was 1 million pounds for his first 10 fights! best thing about it was that the BBC showed a lot of the Haye and Froch fights when they were just starting out as pro's.

    Audley Harrison
    Rocky Juarez (Former Silver Medalist)
Tyrell Biggs (Former Gold Medalist, beat Lennox Lewis in the '84 Games)
Miguel Melo(apparently this guy had like a 400-4 amateur record, last I saw him was getting blasted by a prospect named Floyd Mayweather Jr.)

I would say Pete Rademacher. He was the 1956 HW gold medalist who challenged Floyd Patterson for the HW championship in his debut :D.
He got KO'ed and again in his next bout... after that he never won anything meaningfull. His other meaningfull defeat was getting KO'ed by an old Archie Moore...

i dont think he was an elite amatuer or had much of an amatuer career at all but im convinced that he was thought of very highly when he entered the gym for the first time. he was already signed big before he turned pro.

    my choices are
    oliver kirk
    the vanderpools and the hiltons
zab judah....reason being that the name greatest jewish fighter of all time in the press never rang home to his proffesional achievements
