Does Ray's eliteness outclass the busy brawler Greb over 15? Arthur Mercante, Sr. Ref. If you believe that Ray wins this and Monzon, does that make him the greatest middleweight ever to lace them up?
If Greb can beat a LHW Tunney, he can beat Leonard over 15. Greb UD, with Leonard's face looking like a raw steak after
Really hard to tell without actual footage of Greb. However, based on the fact that Greb fought as high as heavyweight and that his natural weight was 160, and that the smaller Ray had some trouble against swarmers with good chins which Greb certainly was, I'll go with Greb.
I just can't pick a guy I've never seen fight over Ray Leonard, no matter how stellar his reputation. I guess I pick Greb, but very, very tentatively.
This is a side note admittedly but let me throw it in as an addition, Burt Bienstock said his father watched Greb fight and he believed he was too tough for Robinson who was no slouch in tough battles, I think this would have been the case against Leonard especially over 15.
If Greb doesn't stop SRL outright like I think he has a better than average chance of doing, he takes a one sided UD.
I really feel like this fight comes down to Grebs size and workrate overcoming the more polished but smaller Leonard.
