I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. Without knowing for sure, it also makes me wonder if they try to make most of their fights this way. Striking sells better than grappling, that is why most of the rules are angled toward keeping the striking going. EliteXC has been struggling, and I wonder if they want most fights to stay afoot hoping they will be more entertaining. It is a possibility. Then again, keeping their flag ship fighter in his best possible position for winning is too.

They paid Seth to not take Kimo down, taking away Seth's best gameplan, so instead he just drops Kimbo in 14 seconds like the bum he is.
