They overextended their reach. Bought up minor leagues and a bad TV deal put them in huge debt - couldn't make it up in revenue; wasted pay-per-view dollars on free television shows on CBS.
Kimbo made his cash. I dont think he cares. Plus the Japanese would love him. Off to DREAM for Kimbo :yep

Obvious trolling idiot. Too bad EXC will be out of the picture. They did indeed put on some good shows. Hopefully the roster will be picked up.
I have a feeling that Dana may put Kimbo through the Ultimate Fighter (for ratings) and if he can actually prove himself to get through some legitimate competition, put him in a few fights. Unfortunately, he is obviously a draw due to his hype. I wouldn't doubt that he changes his mind about women in the UFC either and signs Carano...or maybe puts them in the WEC.
The problem was that EliteXC didn't bother to build something from the ground up. They had "superstar" Kimbo Slice, and he vaulted them into a prime time TV slot they weren't ready for. Then their "superstar" is exposed, and suddenly the possibility to recoup all the cash they lost went down the drain. Throw a brewing scandal on top of it and the writing was on the wall. I enjoyed the last few cards, and I like free MMA. I'm not going to lose any sleep about fat Gary Shaw being a complete and utter failure though.
