http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slug=dm-elitexc102008&prov=yhoo&type=lgns and they say boxing is dead?! :!: :rofl
I read it, interesting, and the UFC don't want Kimbo Slice either, so I guess he'll go back to strete brawling or something. I hope Gina Carrano finds a MMA Home though.
on one hand im happy, on the other hand... i was liking that mma was fractering, i think in a way that could spell doom for mma.... when you have 4 or 5 orginizations all having their 'champions' and everything like that... it will start to effect the sport. That being said i cant help but be a little happy that they didnt succeed
This doesnt exactly hurt MMA. Elite XC was a embarrsement to the sport thanks very much to that scumbag Gary Shaw. They where nothing more then a 2nd rate MMA show. There biggest stars where a female and a middle aged street fighter who stinks.
The UFC is the only organization that really matters. EliteXC was like a the greedy shyster organization that saw MMA and though "we can make money off this!". Their promotion of Kimbo Slice was ridiculous. Gina Carrano though hopefully gets signed by the UFC, she has actual skills and is hotter than hell, which is a combination made in heaven.
I don't understand this fascination with having only one fighting sport. I kind of like having options. This is like people cheering, "Yay, baseball is dead! That's sooo good for football!" Um, no, not really. ****ing stupid.
The UFC doesn't promote women fights, so she may not have too many options. Of course, that is until Playboy comes calling...
Well if she needs work there's always an opening for her to grapple with my johnson for 7 bucks an hour + tips, no benefits.
