Apparently EliteXC did better than expected, and CBS gave another card a go for either the end of the summer or the fall. It peaked after 11 p.m. with the main event, may have reached over 7.5 million viewers, and won the night for them.

    What do you think?

Part of me wants to say yay. The other part thinks back to Kimbo and groans.

I was surprised at work today how many non-MMA fans watched it though. It was talked about around the watercooler, so to speak, quite a bit. Luckily, one of the non-MMA fans did note, "I think that streetfighter in the last fight was terrible. He couldn't even knock out that tomato can they obviously put in there to lose without the ref's help."

    That gave me a chuckle.

That no matter how shitty the main event is , (in that case , Kimbo vs Thompson) , they'll keep giving a green light to more and more cards as long as the $$$$ is there. As long as the ratings are positive , they don't give a ****...

But this is a bad thing because the entire org is counting on kimbo's popularity. As soon as their cash cow gets brutally owned , it'll be all over. And Gina Carano alone , is not enough to boost their ratings.

Rutten better find a way to do something about some of Kimbo's weaknesses (cardio , ground game). It's imperative or else he's ****ed on the long run.

They are going to have to load up their next card. If they are smart they will have a Cung Le/Shamrock rematch, a Lawler/Smith rematch, Carano on the card I am sure they will put Kimbo on there just not in the main event etc.

They have potential but will need to load the card to prevent the garbage they showed on Saturday.
