When Floyd came out of retirement, Ellerbe told the world that he was coming back to only fight the best opponents, make the biggest fights possible.

Floyd reitterated that statement earlier this week. Told everyone he wasn't going to mess around with a tuneup. He knew the fans would not accept that.

The Campbell talk, the Malignaggi talk, etc... was all unsubstantiated bull**** rumors.

What has Floyd done since unretiring? Fought P4P #2. Say what you want, but it was his first fight in nearly two years, a fight that the public was obviously interested in to the tune of 1 million PPV buys. And Marquez was a perfect opponent to further set up a Pacman fight.

Next comes Pacman. Does anyone still seriously doubt Floyd would not have taken this fight? When Pacman drops the ball, Floyd proves to everyone that he's dead serious about fighting the best. He takes on a bigger man in Mosley in a fight, that while it will be huge, still won't generate the $$ that the Pacman fight would have.

If Floyd and Ellerbe weren't serious about fighting the best, there would be no Mosley fight.

These guys are backing up their talk.

True, he's not his manager, he's not a matchmaker, none of that. He's a mouthpiece. He speaks for Floyd and, in this instance, what he's said is the truth. In the future I am more likely to believe anything that comes out of Floyd's camp before anything that comes out of Manny's.

Get your tongue out of his arse. If they wanted to fight the best they would have fought Mosley as his comeback fight or fought Pacquiao rather than Marquez.

not quite. matt hatton said floyd camp reached out THREE times for them to make a fight. can't ignore this fact.

and Goldboy contacted Campbell obviously on instruction from floyd.

and floyd ducked Mosley on national TV after the Marquez fight and didn't he say "it woujld be acold day in hell beforre I fight mosley?"

it's a little hard to concloude what is the truth and what is the lie from floyd. we'll see if it's a real fight fought at full speed and intensity and animosity. but credit to floyd for taaking it and if it does pan out to be a REAL fight. we'll be watching and listening to the press conferences closely though.

So when Klitschko would beat up Pacquiao, Marquez and Mayweather, you would praise him for beating the #1-3 P4P ?

I give credit to Mayweather for fighting Mosley and I'll give him credit if he wins (which I think he will) because although Mosley is no longer at his peak, he's still dangerous. Floyd has a pretty good resume too IMO.

However, this guy has ducked Margarito, Cotto/a rematch with DLH and Paul Williams. So he's now facing Mosley. All credit to him for finally finding his balls again but so what? This is what he was supposed to do all along. You know, Berto did the same ****, he signed a fight with Mosley but I don't remember people praising him for having balls. The Marquez fight was a joke, the Floyd couldn't even keep the catchweight agreement. Truth is, he could've waited for the winner of Hatton/Pac, or he could've fought Mosley for his comeback. These are just facts. That's why people are criticizing the *****, not because of Mosley. Although I give him credit now, a lot of the criticism he's recieved has been more than justified.

As far as backing up his talk, no matter what Floyd achieves his talking will always be greater. If this guy beats Mosley, Pac and Williams, he won't claim himself to be the greatest, he'll claim to have invented the sport itself and been SRR in his previous life and each time he lost it was only because he was posessed by a demon. In his own words "legacy don't pay the bills".

It's not a fact it's a rumour or lie if you prefer. Take your pick.
