This is my thing...Its kinda hard for Floyd to know that Manny would decline a olympic style drug test! So I have to disagree with you there...I'll rephrase my points I've made to charlie earlier...With the allegations that is surrounding Manny, Floyd wanted to ensure Manny was in fact clean and the playing field is fair! Me personally, I cant sit here and fault Mayweather for asking for a more stern test...Yes the steriod allegations are baseless but with Manny and his team's actions, those baselss allegations have raised some serious questions about Manny...The public opinion is now questioning Manny at this point! So for him not taking that test did him more bad than good.

That true about Floyd not asking for this style of testing but the fact still reamains that Floyd's past opponents hasnt had any steriod allegations facing them either...so for Floyd to do this is within his rights...IMO he was only making sure that the fight was being fair and square!

Thats just my opinion of course!:good

people brought up, "will Floyd demand Olympic style testing in his other fights?"

    Yes, he will!

And if Floyd beats Shane and Manny still won't agree, then guess what, it's on to the next one. Whether it's Bradley, Khan, whoever...and guess what, i'd bet anything that the contract would call for Olympic style testing!! And I'd bet the opponent will sign on, no problem, as long as he has nothing to hide!!

well Floyd did have a potential rematch with DLH in the works at that point.
And in reality, Floyd has been boxing forever. It's pretty clear he was more bored than anything. Why else retire rather than take another big time payday? Retire to duck Cotto?

Fair enough. I can understand him requesting the tests if he had more reasons to be suspicious other than his father just getting in his ear but it's true that by not doing the tests he's made things difficult for himself. If this fight happens in the future, I now hope Pac gives in to the demands. I believe he's innocent but now the damage has been done, he'll always have some people accusing him of being dirty. Freddie Roach needs to tell him this is the best way to kill all suspicion.

Of course he will now. If he only demanded olympic testing for Pacquio he'd look like a *****. Especially with Mosleys history, how would it look if he demanded olympic tests for Pacquiao but not for someone who has admitted using steroids in the past?

:yep Thats exactly what I was thinking...I dont know if was Ellebre or Jr that made those comments about if the plan on fighting Floyd in the future they will have to take an olympic style drug test!
I'm still not going to accuse a man of cheating with any solid evidence...You can check my post history if you would like but I've been quite vocal on how I thought Manny was clean but there is some doubt in my mind given all of the excuses coming from his Camp that has me thinking...I'm only looking at this from my point of view so there is no right or wrong answer but why would you turn down 40 mil. to clear your name, beat the living **** out of the team that put doubts over my career because they think I'm on steriods! After that I would go on record to show them how much of an ******* they really are for starting these false rumors, but with Manny declining, that made things worse on his part!:good

This what Roach and his "advisers" need to tell him.

:yep The fight is going to happen no doubt it! To much money involved in it for them to just walk away from each other!

Hopefully by the end of 2010 we will finally get our dream match!:good

Was Cotto a pay per view attraction in 2007? I think you know the answer to that. Cotto fight with Manny was in 2009 almost two years later. Fighting JMM @ 147 is still tougher than fighting Diaz @ any weight! Hatton was in his absolute prime when Floyd fought him.

As far as the elite contenders you talk about. Margarito wasn't elite back then and on top of it Margarito and Cotto both was offered the fight and Arum turned it down. Look up the history of this on ESPN. The champs back then were Judah and Baldomir. Remember the Brian Kenny interview on ESPN saying Floyd was ducking Baldomir?

The majority of people on this board and the boxing world in general wanted Floyd to fight Shane or Oscar in May 07. He fought Oscar because Shane didn't want it. Immediately after that fight everybody wanted him to fight Hatton. He fought him. Since his comeback he has fought JMM, will fight Shane, and Pac walked away from the fight. What else can he do? If that's not elite then I don't know what to tell you.

Who sought out the fight between Floyd and Shane. Floyd's camp approached Shane to get it done. So I guess Shane he did really want it.

For the record Cotto is not an elite WW. There are three of those and they're FMJ, SSM, and PAC. Cotto is good but not on that level. So PAC will have fought two good WW not elite as Floyd.
