I'd wait for the official numbers before saying how awesome it is Floyd did 1.4 mil. Maybe he did, but there was a lot of reports it only did 1.1-1.2. I think either way it's good, but nowhere near what idiots said it would do.

I've never seen 1.9 for tha fight. Always read 1.4 million. Which further points to the success of this fight.

Would have to check on #1. Given the relative amount of promotion of each bout and having two American-born fighters vs two non-American born fighters, though, Mosley-Mayweather should have blown away Pacquiao-Clottey in ticket sales/gate. Don't think that was the case, but would have to look it up to be sure.

Here is the ESB link for the Steve Kim blurb about the ticket sales being weak. Kim's write-up came like 5 days before the fight, so the discussion of possible PPV sales may best be broken up between "pre-bad ticket sales report" and "post-bad ticket sales report:"

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=222325&highlight=mosley+mayweather+ticket

I'm doing some more research on the "post-bad ticket sales report" predictions on PPV buys. Before Kim's report, you could find the "record-breaking" statements without too much trouble. After reality started to set in, however, it may be a bit more difficult. I'll keep looking.

1.4 is good, and what makes sense.

It just shows how delusional GBP was being.

I started a thread thinking it would push 2 million. I was in Vegas when I wrote it, I was fueled by the atmosphere and yea, I went a little overboard. But looking at this # compared to every other ppv in the history of the sport and you call it a failure? Now that's without reason.

DAt would b great, but Pacquiao bringz da numberz. Floyd Jr. iz a great fighter, but it depends on who he fights that'll garnish a viewing audience.

Projected? Haha! I highly doubt anybody projected 3 or 4 million PPV buys for a Mosley fight. If anybody did say that, i doubt they were all that serious.

No one has projected those numbers for ANY fight.
Mayweather will never touch 2 mil again without a superstar in front of him.
